Free Mandarin!

Reflecting back on my post yesterday, I remembered that I forgot to talk about my quest to get free Mandarin! In a jiffy, I was successful and I did get to eat at Mandarin for free. If you want the long story, continue reading.

So, it was July 1st - Canada Day. I left the house at around 11:30 a.m. to meet my cousin who is in Grade 10 and was standing in line for 2.5 hours already. She told me that she was tired and that we should be in the first batch of people that they bring in. Well, an hour passes by and we've moved all of around 5 feet. This was probably due to the fact that all of these black people just came out of nowhere. Black teenagers just swarmed and cut in line and the police didn't do anything about it. Members of the line often argued their point, but they were just no match for the over exaggerating black teenagers who lied about already being in the line.

Another hour passes and it's 2:00 p.m. She starts to text Kristen Que / Christel Sison back and forth because, apparently, they were in the line as well. Unfortunately for them, we were way ahead of them. After a couple of texts, Cathleen's cell phone dies of battery and we were stranded in the line. The line continued to accumulate more and more people - black people - and it starts to get cramped. I just wanted to punch someone in the face at this point.

After pushing and shoving our way to the front, we finally get seated at 4:02 p.m. The wait was definitely much longer than I expected, but I think it was worth it. I had fried rice, spicy chicken, crispy chicken, garlic bread, pizza, apple pie, vanilla ice cream, red / orange jello, etc. That's all I can think of at this point, but yeah. It was definitely worth it. What else was there to do at home anyway? There was surprisingly nothing much to blog about.

On our way out, look who it is. The mint girl from last time. I remember her, I thought she was pretty hot. Not gonna lie though, she was looking at me. I didn't say anything to her though... maybe next time. Probably not though. Oh well. I have my girlfriend already, she's kind of cute - just kind of.

My Girlfriend Has Potential Part 2

Feb. 17/09: Yesterday, I talked about my girlfriend going all gamer-mode the past couple of days. So, on Sunday she played from about 8 p.m. - 3 a.m. and yesterday she played from 1:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. That's actually quite impressive. 17.5 hours in 2 days. Since i could play an average of 30+ hours in 2 days playing WoW, that's over 1/2 of what i'd play. So, she got off at about 12:00 a.m. last night and she went on to "her second love" Neopets for about 15 minutes. Our (Me, Nikki and ashlee) neopet owns face, pretty much. The stats of the pet are a bit low, but we have 2.6 million (NP) neopoints in the bank plus the 400,000+ NP spent on the neopet home. Oh wait, I'm going off topic, this is supposed to solely be based on my girlfriend's gaming.

Today's July 2 and she's back at it. On a side note, our Neopet account got banned a couple of months ago. You may or may not remember Part 1 of this, but here's the link. For the past week or so, my girlfriend, Nikki, has been playing Harvest Moon again, almost non-stop - if she's awake that is. She usually wakes up at around 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. so at that point I've already been awake for around 4 - 6 hours just tech blogging. There's really nothing to do, but I'd choose this life over the school life.

Anyways, let's get back to the main point, my girlfriend playing Harvest Moon again. So, while finishing up the last season of Dexter today, she played. She's been playing for the past 8 hours straight. She's working out now, but she should go back to playing again when she gets back. We're usually up until around 4 or so. I play Hot Shots Golf Fore / read Angels & Demons, while she plays. It's good because we get to stay up with each other on Skype, something that I love to do.

It'll be our 1 year anniversary in a week and I don't know what to do. Is that bad? Probably. I'll think of something though. I know I don't want anything expensive though - I'm thinking skipping rope - and hopefully she doesn't because, at this point, we both don't have a job. Man, I'm really starting to get pissed off how none of us aren't getting called. She should get called next week though, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Although me - no hope.

Yeah, so we're both "hardcore" gaming again. I know when my true potential will come out - hello Starcraft 2. Oh yeah, I should probably mention that I'm playing Starcraft 1 again. If you want to know my account name, message me.

Transformers 2 / Mandarin

No, I won't be reviewing Transformers 2. That's up to my other friend, Aaron (here). I just have some thoughts about the movie. Okay well, first off, I thought the movie was too long. My butt was hurting for the last half hour or so. Another thing is - wow, Megan Fox was damn hot. Hmm, what else? You know what? There was too much action - I think. Half of the time I didn't even know what was going on, but maybe that's just me. The movie did show what producers are supposed to do though. Clearly, the movie is meant to stray away from the hardcore fans, in order to make a ton of money. The producer's job is to make something that will appeal to the majority of the audience for the money - they're not meant to satisfy just the nerdy little hardcore bunch, which sucks most of the time (for the hardcore fans, I mean). Was that confusing? Oh well.

I watched Transformers 2 today with my girlfriend and it was a pretty good day, besides the fact that it just wouldn't stop raining. Went back to her place and watched a bit of National Treasure, but that's basically it. Oh yeah, we can finally finish watching Dexter again, since I transferred the rest of Season 3 onto her laptop. I can't wait.

I hope that I can wake up at 8 in the morning tomorrow, since there's going to be a free Mandarin event tomorrow. It's the Mandarin manager's 30th year being a Canadian citizen - or something like that - so there's free Mandarin on Canada Day, which is today. I hope the line-up isn't too long.

The Journey - Successful

It's been a while since I updated here, but I want to talk about how last Friday was - June 26. I wanted to talk about this last Saturday, but I completely forgot. It was one of the most memorable Fridays in a while.

I got to my girlfriend's place and we just chilled there for a bit. Watched a bit of Dexter - emphasis on a bit. Then we finally decided to leave the house. "We" meaning me, my girlfriend, and her brother. We walked to the bus stop and I was actually scared we were going to miss it. So, yeah, we took the bus to Square One, took another bus from there to the subway. Then we took 2 subways to get to Eaton Centre. We just walked around for a bit, but we were unaware that it was Gay Pride weekend - or something like that.

We went everywhere. My girlfriend was really amazed at this girl dressed as an angel outside because she though it was a statue. She was even more impressed by a guy painted in bronze because he was the closest thing to a statue I've seen since I saw the silver man in San Francisco a couple of years back. Another guy that was fairly interesting was a guy outside drawing on the sidewalk - it was a tribute to Michael Jackson. It was pretty cool. And, weirdest thing ever was some crazy hobo eating ice cream walking up to us 3. He ended up saying something with his ice-creamed-out beard / mustache, but I forget what it was now.

Anyways, after eating and being amazed at the phones that Rogers Plus had - the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic - we decided to go to my Uncle Jason's place. After eating some burgers and just chilling and talking outside, we decided to go back in to my uncle's condo. My Uncle Phil showed off some pictures from my early, early childhood to my girlfriend, kind of funny stuff. We watched Push, it was a pretty good movie. Shortly after, we watched the intro to Kung Fu Panda. We went home afterwards.

It may seem boring as I write it, but I'm glad that we went there. I got to chill with just about the 4 most important people in my life. I loved that day, I wish I could relive it again. Good to see that my girlfriend and her brother accepted my uncles. Bottom line, it was a really damn good day.

Today, I'm off to see Transformers 2 with my girlfriend. I'm leaving at around 1:30 - if you care.

Could I Really Be?

After a rough night, today I'm off to a journey with my girlfriend and her brother. I have no clue where we're going to go, but it's going to be a journey, which could possibly mean downtown. I don't know for sure, and we'll just have to see how it goes.

I'm currently reading Angels & Demons and it's probably the best book I've ever read in my life - seeing how I've only read two other books in my life. It's really interesting and is so scientific, I wish I took Biology in High School, but it's too late now.

Oh yeah, I've been thinking about it for a couple of days now. It's funny how students have to pick what to do for the next 45 years of their life at the age of 17 /18. How are we really supposed to know what we want to be? Oh well.

Although, Michael Jackson never had much impact on my life for the past 10 years, he definitely played a part of my childhood. R.I.P. Michael Jackson.

It's Officially Summertime!

It's 3:46 a.m. I have just finished writing all of my exams and I'm damn proud that I'm finally finished. Let me sum up the past couple of weeks for all of you - all 2 of you out there. So, I've been writing on my tech blog less because of exams lately. I had my first job interview on Thursday with Future Shop, I really hope they give me a call next week. I got my first [real] mail from Google, due to the whole AdSense thing going on over there on my tech blog. And I finished my last exam yesterday. It's officially Summer.

I can finally update this everyday, but I doubt I'll do that since I rarely have anything to talk about. I rarely ever "think." Oh yeah, I should probably mention that I just finished watching the first 3 seasons of "Dexter." It's officially the best show on TV I have ever seen. Yes, it beats "The Office." "The Office" is definitely second though.

Yeah, "Dexter" is just amazing. The blood, suspense, and another English word that I can't think of on the top of my head. Basically, it's when the audience knows something the characters don't know. This, in turn, leads to more suspense and hilarity ensues.

I don't really know what else to talk about. But, I do know that the main reason I wrote on this blog today was to tell you all that I finally get to clean my room! I plan to keep it clean - at least for the Summer. I'm going to start cleaning tomorrow, but I'll probably finish on Sunday because I have a ton to do.

On a side note, Friday night was amazing. One of the best nights I've had in my life. Anyways, I'm bored, so good night world. For those viewers in Singapore... good afternoon.

Putting Edge / Hannah Montana Is The Bomb!

Yesterday I finally got to spend some time with my girlfriend. So, while waiting for her to get home, I waited on her porch and hacked into 2 peoples' networks so I could use their WiFi. After spending some time watching G4 Tech TV [!!!!!] we went to AMC. After deciding not to watch a movie, we ate Demetre's even though I'm broke. After eating my delicious crepe and after finishing off Nikki's milkshake-thing we decided to go to Putting Edge. There were no movies that we felt like watching - not even Fast and Furious - so we decided to go putting instead. On a side note, the last time I went to Putting Edge was for my 10th or 11th birthday party (according to my knowledge). In addition to me applying there, we had a great time  - even though Nikki lost her glowing bracelet. We'll probably be visiting that place more often because it's cheaper than a movie. That was my Putting Edge experience for the night. I really do hope that I get the job. $10.00 an hour would mean that (according my availability) I could have a PS3 in just a week of working. How bomb would that be?

Today, on the other hand, I've been extremely bored. Nothing new / fascinating to blog about and I'm not really in the school work mood. I have a Calculus test on Monday and a Physics Lab due on Tuesday and a Physics Test on Wednesday. It may be nothing compared to studying for those University exams, but I'm just saying. I woke up quite early this morning because I had to go to my dentist appointment. After bleeding on numerous occasions, it was over. I've been home for the past 5 hours now and have been completely surrounded by boredism. I'm considering taking a nap until 5 p.m. because I have to go to church at 5:30. On a side note, I have the sudden urge to drive!

Oh, I just thought about something funny. This morning my mom informed me that she got an e-mail from O2 (a mobile phone provider) saying that she won £415,000 randomly. My mom foolishly thought it was real but after about 2 seconds of Google'ing, I revealed to her that it was just a scam. The funny thing is that someone on the forums was being laughed at because he actually decided to give €400 to the specified address in the e-mail. My mom's not too tech-saavy, but at least she informed me about the e-mail before shipping the money - or herself. She actually got a little bit sad after finding out it was just a scam; she was actually happy for a change y'know. I love my mother.

The Climb by Hannah Montana is just about the greatest song I've heard off of the Family channel. Usually I don't like music that has "meaning" to it (aka Tupac), but this one is different. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about this song that I love. It feels like it just has so much passion / feeling. It's a different side of Miley Cyrus and it's a much different song than her Hannah Montana opening song (which I hate because it sounds to me like she's bragging a bit). Kind of hard to believe that I like this song, since I'm into hardcore rap music. Anyways, make sure to watch the video below in HQ.

Doubts

Before you go and question the title, keep in mind that this is about University and nothing else. I have a day-off today and I figured that I might as well write some of my thoughts down because I rarely have time to update this. First of all, Physics is starting to make sense, but we'll just have to see after my next test on Tuesday.

Second of all, I'm having doubts about what I want to spend the rest of my life doing. What do I want my career to be? As of right now, my dream job would be to work for Dell, Blizzard or Google as a Software / Computer Engineer. Yes, that is shooting for the stars a bit, but it is a dream. Anyways, I talked a little bit about my future yesterday with Nikki and Adrian. It really got me thinking about what I want to do in the future. Do I even want to be a Computer Engineer? Every University student questions themselves about this same topic, "Do I really want to be doing this job for the rest of my life?" I don't really know if I want to be a Computer Engineer anymore because I'm kinda sorta leaning towards Software Engineering. I know being an Engineer will be extremely tough for me, but I'm willing to put myself to the test. A couple of my friends have struggled in Engineering-based courses so I am having my doubts, but I'm just going to have to test it out for myself. I am sure about one thing though, I will not be an Electrical Engineer, LOL. I might even go into Computer Science to see where that leads me. We'll just have to see what offers I get - if I get any - from Ryerson; I'm praying to get accepted into Computer Engineering for, at least, first year.

I'm anxious to see how I do, even though my main focus should be this school year.

I almost forgot. Last night me and my girlfriend were talking and I brought up the fact about how I love Astronomy and Liquid Nitrogen. The whole knowing about life and stars out there and Super Conductivity (video below) really fascinate me. Maybe I'll even major in something around those lines. Keep in mind that the video below does have quite a lengthy intro, so you might want to skip forward a little bit (approx 0:50 mark).

Off To My Girlfriend's Place I Go!

So, I'm all ready to leave for my girlfriend's place today. I was supposed to leave at 9:15 a.m. to bus to her house, but my mom offered to drive me so I now have 30 minutes to spare. Before I talk about today, I'll talk about yesterday.

Gotta love Saturdays. The day where I'm supposed to catch up on all of my work - especially because I'm going to be at my girlfriend's place today. Yesterday from about 3 p.m. - 3 a.m. I watched this show on BET called 'The Game.' I didn't even know what it was before today, but I did notice that a couple of my friends on Facebook became "Fans" of the show. Well, the show is pretty good, I'm not going to lie (I did watch it for about 12 hours). In addition to having a couple of hot girls, the storyline is actually decent but it's not exactly brand-new. It follows the traditional boy and girl together, they break up, go out with other people, then they come into realization that they're still in love later, etc. It's actually pretty funny, but it's not as funny as 'The Wayans Bros.' I don't really want to explain every character in depth because I don't want to make this post that lengthy. Anyways, it's a pretty good show, I like it.

On to today. Like I said, I'm going to my girlfriend's house today. We're going to watch the last two episodes of 'The Office' and then go to the movies and watch 'Duplicity.' I don't really know what else we're going to do after that, but I'm going to have to leave before 7 p.m. because that's when they leave for church. I haven't seen my girlfriend for over a week, so I miss her. I can't wait to leave, even though I'm about to eat bacon and I just brushed my teeth. I dislike brushing my teeth, but I'm going to have to do it twice this morning. Talk about a crisis.

On a side note, my girlfriend finally made a new post - you can view her blog in my right sidebar somewhere. It was her first post in about 6 weeks. She even took the time to alter her layout a little bit. I love her.

Result of Nikki Not Being Home On a Saturday

So, Nikki wasn't home for pretty much the whole day. This is what happens when she's not home. My day:

-   I woke up at around 9 or something, i don't really remember. I woke up because Nikki called me and that's all i remember.
-   I think she called again later after she finished showering, again i don't really remember.
-   I went back to sleep.
-   I woke up at 12:27 p.m. to eat breakfast (Bacon, Ham and Eggs, yum).
-   I went back to sleep.
-   I woke up at around 2:25 p.m. and read my whole unread list on G-Reader.
-   I went back to sleep.
-   I woke up at around 3 because some guy called me and then i went back to sleep.
-   I woke up at 3:50 and decided to blog. After that i went to sleep again.
-   I woke up at around 5 something because Nikki called me and woke me up.
-   I ate grapes. After 2 plates, i went back to sleep.
-   When Nikki got home, at around 8, i woke up since she called me.
-   Since then, I uploaded some pictures on Facebook, watched Star Wars (on Spike TV), watched 2 Family Guy episodes online, watched half of the last The Office episode online (cause of Megavideo's time limit thing) and also watched the UFC 96 main event (yes, Rampage).
-   I've also been reading Fifth Business [again] for the past 3 hours (really only 2, due to clocks pushing forward or whatever).

That concludes my day, very sleep-full and very boring-full. Time for me to go to bed yet again. I was supposed to do homework today, but clearly that didn't happen. Tomorrow will be a Physics-filled day. I'm mildly excited.

My Girlfriend Has Potential

The title says it all. My girlfriend has potential. But, wait, potential for what? Potential to be a gamer. As you may already realize i am extremely bored, since MWC is done for the day. So, i'm going to talk about my girlfriend. She's been wanting to play this game called Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life, for a long time now. Just about as long as i've been waiting for Starcraft 2 to come out. Well, maybe not that long. She was looking forward to playing it in the Summer, but she couldn't find the game. So, she blamed her brother for losing it. She also wanted to play this game during Christmas time, but she still hadn't found it. Well, she decided to clean her room one day and came across the game. It was under her bed. Haha!

This brings me to my main topic. My girlfriend has potential to be a gamer. She has barely moved all day. For the past 6 hours she's been on her bed playing Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life for GameCube. What a loser. She's changed positions on her bed a couple of times though (LOL), since that's her comfy chair. Her gaming kind of reminds me of my WoW'ing back in the day and it just fascinated me that even she could get hooked to games. She dislikes when i play games, but she wants me to be happy and she let's me do what i want. So, if i'm playing games, she rarely stops me. I'm also an excellent multi-tasker so it's not like i'm ignoring her. But she, on the other hand, is not a very good multi-tasker. We're on Skype right now and i just tested her multi-tasking skills. I said, "Hey!" to her and she answered after a 4.7 second pause. Usually though, she wouldn't hear me, so it was surprising that she actually answered. She has unlocked this gamer potential just recently because she has this whole week off, and so do most of you reading this, because it's 'Reading Week.' Maybe one day we'll be able to play a game together. WTB (Wanting to Buy) Harvest Moon for the PS3 PS2. I still love her though, even though she's in this trance playing this game. It's like we've switched roles today; she's playing games and i'm bored, not doing anything. It's okay though, i'm glad to see that she's so into it. She looks happy, even though her yams just died. I still love you loser =D I'll be your friend, just in case someone in the game doesn't want to be.
